OHS Media Lab Mission Statement
The mission of the Odem High School Media Lab is to teach students to be effective users of information and to encourage and prepare students to be life long learners. This mission is accomplished by:
A. Providing intellectual and physical access to information materials in a variety of formats and media
B. Stimulating interests in reading and in finding and using information and ideas
C. Promoting the use of media center by students and faculty
D. Supporting the school's curriculum and reading initiatives

Gale Resources Database cover several subjects, topics, reading levels, and grade levels. It is a very beneficial research tool.

Academic Index is a scholarly academic search engine accessing only websites previously selected by librarians, teachers and library and educational consortia. Academic Index was created by, and is maintained by, Dr. Michael Bell, former chair, Texas Association of School Librarians. A free online resource library for educators and parents. The online site expands educators' and parents' access to resources aimed at supporting classroom instruction.
